New recipe (or hack!) that deals with the count of the new line character as two characters instead of one to avoid exceptions due to data truncation. Hope it helps you as it did for me…
If that is so, then this link is for you. Basically, go to your LibreOffice writer in Tools > Options. Then, in the LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids, unselect the option Enable cursor in protected areas. After doing that, I just saved the document with a new name in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 format and the read only document no longer is read only 🙂
